Preface
‘Inward’
The online exhibition ‘Inward’ presents the students’ projects (Academic Year 2021-22), discussing topics such as identity, five senses, time, light and cities. This is covered through different visual art areas such as contemporary art and 3D design, visual communication and illustration, fashion and fabric design.
During the three-year art & design course, the students will explore two years of cross-subject learning to investigate different thinking styles and creative methods of art and design, including creative research, analytical and critical thinking, studio practice, etc. In this exhibition, you will witness students using interdisciplinary ideas to discover new creative views, expand the boundary of visual language, and diisplay the spirit of experiment and adventure.
In addition, the exhibition encourages the students to evolve and expand their connection with the world through art. Students are stimulated to observe and acknowledge their relationship with the environment and history in conjunction with the theme. Through intrinsic observation, many students put their body, memories, feelings and experiences at the center of their creations. As a result, these pieces vary from bold and open to delicate and emotive.
The exhibition provides students the opportunity to be independently heard and a space to communicate with the audience. Each piece should be considered as a statement. How do today’s teenagers respond to current social changes and psychological anxiety? As an audience, can their expressions provide solutions in the modern world?
